What Ancient Armor does
Ancient Armor is a story outfit, rather than a stack of the ten ordinary armor pieces. Older guides call it Golden Armor. In the full-release route, the initially copper-coloured outfit must be plated before it opens the Golden Door.
Bring the Rebreather, air tanks and combat supplies. This route uses the eastern large-lake entrance.
Reach the spaceship
- Pass the illuminated cave drawing, turn right and then left.
- Follow the long chamber’s right side towards the metal passage and dive.
- After surfacing and crossing the planks, immediately turn towards the light and metal structure on the left, then climb the rope. A skull-lit dead end means you went past that turn.
- Break through the boarded gap and slide into the pool.
- Continue through the metal structures, ropes and diving passages towards the spaceship struck by lightning.
- Break the boards at its rear and enter the cockpit.
- Collect Ancient Armor and Artifact piece G from the wearer. Verify both separately in the inventory.
Find the Armor Plater blueprint
Open the Luxury entrance from the Residential surveillance control room first. In Luxury, follow the bathroom wall opening towards the Golden Door. The nearby skeleton holds the Armor Plating Blueprint.
This is different from the weapon-plating blueprint in the Pickaxe cave.
Build and defend the plating cycle

Place Ancient Armor and 12 Solafite into the device. Prepare to defend it against two mutant waves while the cycle runs, then retrieve the upgraded outfit. If the device is destroyed during the process, the unupgraded armor is returned and the ore is lost.
Return to Luxury, equip the upgraded armor and interact with the Golden Door. Continue with the ending route when ready.
