Complete the tool chain
You need the Shovel, which requires the Rebreather and Rope Gun. Use the laptop in the Shovel cave to reveal Maintenance A on the GPS.
The dig site is near a river bend upstream from the northern beach on the western side of the island. A missing green icon does not remove the physical entrance.
Dig the correct hatch
- Look for the survey area and dirt between two surveying tripods.
- Equip the Shovel and uncover the metal Maintenance A hatch.
- Open it and climb down the ladder.
- Follow the hallway into the living/office room with a printer.
- Pick up the Maintenance Keycard from the desk and verify it in the inventory.
The deeper storage room is the Firefighter Axe destination. Reaching that room does not mean you already collected the card.
Use the card
It opens compatible card readers and is not consumed each time it is used. If digging does not reveal a hatch, verify the designated site and your equipped tool; making a hole anywhere is not the entry condition.
The card gives access to deeper Entertainment Bunker areas and the Food and Dining progression described in the ending route. The early printer room is accessible before its card-locked door.
